Mercado del Barrio is a mixed-use center located under the Coronado Bridge in the heart of Barrio Logan. The project is anchored by Northgate Market and includes retail space and apartments. MAAC operates comprehensive housing communities that provide life-changing services to over 35,000 individuals annually throughout San Diego County.
Our Services
MAAC needed a detailed survey map of Mercado del Barrio to build the Mercado Apartments, low-income housing of 144-unit two-story buildings that includes houses management, leasing, community rooms, computer rooms, laundry and a daycare facility. The unit mix consists of 18 one-bedroom units, 60 two-bedroom units, 64 three-bedroom units, and 2 three-bedroom manager’s units and will be restricted at 35 percent, 50 percent and 60 percent of Area Median Income (AMI).
Excel Engineering was tasked with developing an ALTA survey to include the following:
- Condemnation for the Coronado Bridge, the older part of town and unrecorded use of land
- Need accurate mapping of ADA access and pathways and common areas
